Parent Ed: Today’s Marijuana: What You and Your Teen Need To know
Get the latest facts about the current state of marijuana use by teens in Marin County and around the country. Dr. Jennifer Golick, LMFT and Clinical Director of Muir Woods Treatment Center, will inform and educate parents (and teens) on the effects of marijuana on the developing teenage brain, THC content and potency levels, addiction and other risks, and legal consequences. This program has been generously underwritten by Twin Cities Coalition for Healthy Youth and the Ross Valley Healthy Collaborative. Students are welcome.

“Weed 101: Smart Approaches to Marijuana”
This science based educational program featured a panel including Kevin A. Sabet, drug policy advisor to three Presidential administrations, author of Reefer Sanity: Seven Great Myths About Marijuana and co-founder with former Congressman Patrick Kennedy of Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM). The panel will also include Jody Belsher, the creator of the award winning documentary The Other Side of Cannabis: Negative Effects of Marijuana on Our Youth. Belsher documents her son’s journey with marijuana addiction and features interviews with various neuro-scientists, doctors, addiction specialists and researchers. This event is sponsored by the Tamalpais Union School District and the Marin County Office of Education.
